📍Beeleigh Falls – CM9 6LL. Multiple routes available from the postcode. This is a canal and river walk.
📍Hadleigh castle and Country Park, SS7 2PP. This route start at 📍Church Road SS7 2HA, a residential street offering free parking with no time restrictions. Heading West on Church Road taking a left at Meadow Road then straight onto Castle Road. Follow Castle Road reaching 📍 Hadleigh Farm, Training and Rare Breeds Centre. If you’re looking to only view the Castle ruins, take a left here and follow the signs. I took the path to the right heading along Seaview Terrace. At the end of Seaview Terrace you enter a public footpath entering 📍Hadleigh Park from the East. There are multiple routes and bike trails here along with parking, toilets and a cafe. Parking is chargeable with gate closing times. Using my hiking app I followed paths looping around and through the stunning park. Heading South exiting Hadleigh park turning left onto Castle view footpath. Following the path straight where you will see 📍 Hadleigh Castle to the left atop a hill. You will reach a left turn climbing the hill following it round to the right reaching Hadleigh Castle ruins. There are paths circling the man made mound and ruins with vast views across the marshes. I done a full loop of the ruins and walked back down the path I entered, turning right retracing my steps along the straight Castle View path. Continuing past the path originally entering on, across the cattle grids then taking the first available left towards the railway crossing. Carefully crossing the tracks, the path continues into 📍 The Marshes following to the left onto 📍Sea Wall Footpath and through the low water causeway into 📍Hadleigh Marsh. You eventually reach 📍 Leigh Motor Boat club with a bridge to the right taking you to 📍Two Tree Island if you want a continued nature reserve walk. I continued straight and shortly after arrived at 📍 Graveyard of Lost Species site. The footpath continues to High Road, over the bridge at Leigh on Sea train station turning left along Belton Way West taking the foot path left leading back to 📍 Hadleigh Castle. Following the path through the ruins you arrive back at Castle Lane to Meadow Road back to the parking point on Church Road.
